Whole Wheat Garlic Buns

Whenever I am visiting a bakery, I love to see the variety of stuff on display - just looks beautiful... But I am so attracted to the buns and rolls there.. Their aroma and flavor (if freshly made) is so wonderful... It almost takes one to a dream land.. And to replicate them at home is even more heavenly.. I got this recipe from here and we loved it.. So flavorful and whole house was filled with great aroma and flavors..

Ingredients
Whole Wheat Flour – 1 ½ cups
All Purpose Flour – ½ cup
Yeast – 1 table spoon
Salt – 1 tea spoon
Sugar – 1 ½ tea spoons
Water – ¼ cup (warm)
Milk – ½ cup + 2 table spoons (warm)
Green Chili (minced) – 6 to 8
Garlic (minced) – 6 to 8 large cloves
Coriander Leaves (minced) – ¼ cup
Olive Oil - 1 1/2 tea spoons
Butter (room temperature) – 3 table spoons
Sesame Seeds – 1 tea spoon
MethodProof the yeast - Add the warm water, 1/2 cup warm milk, sugar and yeast in a bowl and mix it well. Cover it and let it rise for 5 - 10 minutes until foamy
In the mixing bowl, add the whole wheat flour and all purpose flour with salt and mix well
Add the yeast solution to the dough and knead it until you get a soft sticky dough.
Grease a bowl and transfer the dough into the bowl. Cover it and allow it to rest for about an hour or until it doubles in volume
Prepare the garlic spread by mixing together butter, garlic, green chili, coriander leaves and set aside
After the dough has doubled in volume, gently knead and with help of oil, roll it to about 1/2 inch thickness with the help of a roller
Reserve some topping and Spread the remaining spread on one end of the sheet and roll it from one end to another to get a tight and firm cylinder.
Cut the cylinder into 2 halves and cut each half into 3 rolls each, so you get 6 rolls
Brush with milk and spread the remaining spread on top and add sesame seeds
Line parchment to a cake pan or a tin
Transfer the rolls to a pan which has room for the rolls to rise, but also not too much space. The space in the pan should be such that the rolls with touch each other at the end of rising. This way you will get nice tall ones as opposed to the flatter ones
Cover the pan and let them rise again for around 30 - 45 minutes
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C
Bake it in the preheated oven for 25 - 30 minutes or until the rolls become golden
Remove from the oven and brush with little butter and pull them apart and enjoy!!!
