Honey Multigrain Pizza

Pizza - Ah!! that word makes a lot of us drool.. In our house, all of us love pizza. I have tried many types of pizza.. Last time I did with whole wheat flour, this time I have included multigrain flour making it even more better. For the multigrain flour, you could use your choice of combination. A combination of corn, rye, oats, fingermillet flour, soy flour, maize flour etc..

Honey Whole Wheat Pizza

Pizza is one of my daughter’s favorite… Actually I also like it, but the truth is I prefer home made. I have tried Pizza with regular all purpose flour, with multigrain flour (recipe coming soon), with whole wheat flour. In this recipe I have included 1/4th of all purpose flour also. You could try doing it completely with whole wheat flour, but you will need to proof for longer time.. I will try this next time with complete whole wheat flour. This will make 3 9 inch thin crust pizzas or 2 13 inch thin crust pizzas. Toppings are again a personal choice. I made 3 different group of toppings. One with Basil and mozzarella. Second with Basil, Olives and Mozzarella. Third with Cherry tomatoes, Mozzarella and Basil. Also please do not use Parchment paper on the baking tray, instead grease the baking tray well.

Then Vadai / Sweet Medu Vadai

Vadai is my favorite deep fried item.. So perfect for tiffin or for breakfast. This is the sweet cousin of the Spicy Medu Vadai. This gets its taste and sweetness from the honey added. You could add more honey if desired. I saw this in a TV show and loved it.. It will be in darker color compared to its spicy cousin due to its sugar content..

Baklava

Baklava is a Turkish sweet delicacy which tastes best when served at room temperature. This is a very sinful dessert and it is better to have a lot of crowd to enjoy them, as you cannot stop with one... It is fairly simple to make if you can find the pyhllo pastry and you have little patience and can handle them gently.

Thinai Laddu - Quick Easy and Healthy Sweet

Thinai is a whole grain that I got introduced recently.. It is very healthy and nutritious.. The first recipe I tried with Thinai is Thinai Pulao (recipe coming soon)and now Thinai Laddu. I got this one from Arokya Unavu TV Show. This is one of the sweets that you do not feel guilty gobbling a few.. It is so good for you and very quick to make.. One change I would do is - Next time I will grind the thinai little more. Now it was like ravai / sooji. I think we would prefer more smoother one..

Decadent Chocolate Fix / Healthy Chocolate Pudding

Lot of us have this opinion that a dish that looks healthy is not tasty and a dish that looks tasty is not healthy.. Whenever I serve a dish and oats is seen, people in my house assume that is not going to taste great and yes I have to mask the healthy ingredients quite a bit.. But with this delicious chocolaty pudding, all I had to do was keep it on the table and it was gone!!! Where did I get this recipe from??? I got this from a Doctor show.. They were talking about how difficult it is to eat healthy ingredients and how to make them tasty and quick. This delicious pudding has all the great ingredients (from their site – “With over 20 vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, avocado keeps you looking and feeling great, while pure cocoa gives your brain a rush of dopamine to fire up your brain’s pleasure receptors”and can be made in a jiffy..

100% Whole Wheat Sandwich Bread–Very soft Bread with sponge and soaker

 
In one line about this bread is - "One of the best breads I have baked"... Whenever I make whole wheat flour for breads, it is notorious for its dense and heavy texture.. But this bread will change all that... It was super soft, perfect texture and was delicious... I am sure I will baking this quite often.. Yogurt Parfait

Y was one letter that finished really late in my planning. It was done only on 25th Sep.. I did this for hubby's birthday and we all enjoyed it a lot.. I made 3 glasses and they looked so picture perfect.. Since I made this for evening, my pictures are not so perfect.. Wish I captured them in the day time.. Thanks to our BM friends on the advise of when to assemble.. This one is all to taste and preference and availability.. Yogurt Parfait is basically a layered desert with yogurt, fruits and nuts.. How many layers, how much quantity depends on you. This quantity made 3 tall servings. This is my choice for Y – International

Thenkoodu Buns / Khaliat Nahal (Honeycomb Buns or Bee’s Hive Buns)

Bread baking is fun and sometimes tedious with the wait time for the proofing.. When Aparna announced this month challenge for We Knead to Bake, it so looking so tempting and wanted to try it immediately, but then kept postponing.. And when I was deciding on recipes for the A-Z, it so happened that recipe for T had to be either International or baked.. So I chose this thenkoodu designed bread for T - Baked. Thenkoodu meaning beehive or honeycomb is the design this bread resembles and thus the name for this delicious sweet stuffing bun. Khaliat Nahal translates as Bee’s Hive in Arabic. This is because the buns are baked close to each other in a round pan where they form a honeycomb like pattern. They’re traditionally made sweet and glazed with honey flavored syrup, though savory versions are also made. I chose the sweet one which has cream cheese as the filling. I chose to use hung curd instead of cream cheese and also added some dry fruits and nuts to it..

Honey Drizzled Semolina Cake

I have never tried a cake with semolina and I was inclined to do this when I saw the recipe for the HBC which was chosen from here. When I finished making it and was ready to cut and click pictures, I was almost crying as I felt like it was a disaster... But then I came to know that this is correct texture of the cake from our friend Gayathri who also tried the eggless version.. Thanks to her, i felt relieved and happy. And then took these photos.. It was very tender and crumbly, so needed so much care and attention.. It has a very unique taste and a nice flavor and aroma of honey and vanilla. I also chose this for H under the baked category. I halved the recipe and made it in a 6x4 pan. But you can double this and bake it in a 13x9 pan.

Eggless Apple Walnut Bread–Very healthy Quick Bread

I get very excited to do dishes that are healthy. Generally sweet bakes have loads of butter, sugar and white flour in it. I try to make them healthy and tasty.. In my house people do not appreciate Oats much, but I try to tweak it and hide it in baked goodies and reveal the secret that the dish has oats after its gets the "Tasty and yummy" certificate... I guess lot of us to try to feed healthy stuff by hiding them in the dish... This bread was a very easy winner in getting the "Tasty and yummy" certificate and wins my "very healthy and easy" certificate and it is a win-win. A healthy quick bread which has no processed ingredients. I got this recipe from here. This stays well (when un cut) for at least 2 days in the fridge. I reheat it for 15 – 20 seconds in the microwave and serve them. It also makes a perfect lunchbox dish. It is a good idea to plastic wrap it if storing it in the fridge.

Granola Bar - v2

Granola is a breakfast food and snack food consisting of various nuts, dried fruits, some sweetener and rolled oats. I have never heard of Granola in India or it is known by some other name. First time I heard of it was when my colleagues in the US used it for Lunch.. Looked like big bar and all that they would do is unwrap it and eat it with some milk or juice and call it done… Will look so cool.. And then I went to the shops to search for it and there were too many choices but hey they were also expensive.. I was watching my favorite Alton Brown show (and his Book) and saw him do this and could not delay doing it… I have tried this a few times and all of them were so delicious and so healthy

Eggless Oats Almonds Cookies

As the name says this is a cookie made with oats and almonds. All the ingredients in this recipe are unprocessed and are guilt free. No white flour, no white sugar and not much fat, but this cookie is soooo tasty. I got this recipe from here. Whole Wheat Honey Buttermilk Bread

Bread is an universal food, although it is more used in the Western Countries, bread has become an important food in most diets. Bread is normally made with All purpose flour or bread flour or Maida and this one is a much healthier one. I got this recipe from here.
