Peda is an interesting, quick and tasty sweet. This can be done in less than 10 minutes from start to finish. I chose this simple sweet which looks so good and difficult for this month's BM...
Ingredients
Milk Powder – 1 ¾ cups
Condensed Milk – 1 can
Butter – ¼ cup (1/2 a stick)
Ghee – to grease
Pistachio – to garnish
Cardamom Powder – ½ tea spoon
Nutmeg Powder – ¼ tea spoon
Salt – A pinch
Method
In a microwave safe bowl (take one which has some height to it like a mixing bowl), melt the butter until it is melted and not boiling or browned
To the butter add milk powder and condensed milk and cook for a minute in the microwave.
Remove from heat and mix it well cook for another minute
Remove from heat and mix it well and add cardamom powder, nutmeg powder, salt and saffron milk and cook for another minute
Now the mixture is ready if you can make a ball out of it. If not then, make it for another 30 seconds or a minute in the microwave
Allow it to cool for 3 – 4 minutes
Grease a plate with ghee and also grease your palms with ghee
Make small balls from the mixture and flatten it a little to bring it to the peda shape and arrange on the greased plate. Garnish with pistachio when still warm
Serve warm or on room temperature.
