Cake Sheets are basic cakes with which you could do many shapes and designs as per your creativity. I made a black forest cake with chocolate ganache icing (recipes will follow soon) with this cake. But you could use your imagination and make them into various shapes. This recipe will give 2 9 inch round cakes.
Ingredients Required
All Purpose Flour - 2 cups + 2 table spoons
Baking powder – 2 teaspoons
Baking soda – 1 tea spoon
Sweetened condensed milk – 1 can (14 oz.)
Orange juice – 1 ½ cups
Salt – ¼ tea spoon
Vanilla extract – 2 tea spoons
Melted butter – 1 cup
Tutti Frutti – ¼ cup
Sugar - 2 table spoons
Cocoa Powder - 1/4 cup + 2 table spoons
Method
Preheat oven to 175 degrees C
Grease 2 9 inch cake pans well and set aside
Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, baking powder and baking soda into a large bowl. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda.
Make a well in the center and pour in the sweetened condensed milk, orange juice, vanilla, sugar, melted butter and tutti frutti. Mix well and pour into prepared pan.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25 - 30 minutes (turn the pan half way through for even cooking), or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Allow to cool completely.
