A delicious accompaniment which is so popular in many parts of the world. Although this is quite popular, it is considered not so healthy. To me the reason is double frying. This is a great accompaniment to Burgers, makes a great evening snack. Serve it with ketchup and you cannot stop with one!!
Ingredients
Potatoes - 1 kg
Oil - to Fry
Corn Starch - 1 table spoon
Salt - 1 tea spoon (adjust to taste)
Chili powder - 1/2 tea spoon (adjust to taste)
Method
Wash and clean the potatoes well
Allow it to dry on a kitchen towel for 10 minutes
Now cut the potatoes into thin strips
Soak the potatoes in cold salted water for 10 minutes
Rinse the potatoes well and allow it to dry on a kitchen towel
After 10 minutes, use another towel and remove any excess moisture
Add the corn starch and toss it to ensure that it is evenly coated
Heat oil in a pan and once hot, add the potatoes and allow it to fry for 8 - 10 minutes until it slightly changes color
Remove it to a tray
Finish the remaining potatoes
Now refry them on a higher temperature oil for 3 - 4 minutes until it is golden
Remove to a tray and sprinkle salt and chili powder and serve hot!!
