Yaay!!! My blog crossed 1000 Facebook likes!!! So excited and am so thankful to all who supported me.. Hope to receive the same love and support.. What can be a better way to celebrate the 1000 likes than with a sweet.. Sharing this simple and delicious sweet virtually!!Cocoa Cake is a quick and easy sweet. It is also called as Chocolate burfi.. This is one of the very popular burfi made in Indian homes during Festivals.. This does not require much preparation and can be made quite quickly.. I enjoyed this as a kid when my mom made these and my daughter also loves these… Surely a kid friendly sweet.. Make this for your family and you will be happy you did!!!!
Ingredients
Cocoa Powder – 3 table spoons
Maida – 1 Cup
Ghee – 5 table spoons
Sugar – 1 ¼ cup
Cardamom Powder – 1/8 tea spoon
Nutmeg Powder – 1/8 tea spoon
Water – ¾ Cup
Salt – A pinch
Lemon Juice – 1 tea spoon
Method
Grease a rimmed plate with a tea spoon of ghee and set aside.
Dry roast maida in a pan for about 4 - 5 minutes until the raw flavor is gone. Set aside and combine cocoa, maida and salt well. Better if sieved. Add ghee just enough to make it a ball.
Heat water, sugar and lemon juice and bring it to a boil
Bring it to 230 degrees F or until a single thread consistency is formed (little more than single thread is required)
Now add the cocoa ghee mixture, cardamom and nutmeg powder and stir continuously until a smooth creamy paste is achieved.
Transfer to a greased plate and cut after 30 minutes to desired shapes.
