I made chocolate cake for my daughter's birthday and wanted to make the cake pops with the left over cake crumbs or cake pieces.. My daughter loved it and it was an instant hit and I had fun playing with various designs. This was one of the choices chosen by Pallavi for this month’s Home Bakers Challenge. You can play around with the designs and sprinkles. This also makes a great kid time to allow them to play and decorate their cake pops.. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed it..
Ingredients
Eggless Chocolate Cake - 2 cups
Chocolate Frosting - 2 table spoons
Dark Chocolate - 1/4 cup
Butter - 1 tea spoon
Sprinkles
Frosting
Sliced Almonds
Method
Crumble the cake to a pea sizes..
Add 1 table spoon of the frosting, mix it with the cake crumble and see if you make a ball. If yes, then make the balls.
If not, then add little more frosting until you can make a ball.
Make balls and place it on a parchment lined baking sheet and place it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes
After 15 minutes, insert the lollipop stick in the center half way through.
Melt the dark chocolate until it is smooth. Add a tea spoon of butter and mix well
Have you work area - cake balls, then melted chocolate, frosting, sprinkles, nuts
Take each ball by holding the stick and dip in the chocolate and sprinkle with sprinkles or nuts or have as is
You could also dip it in frosting and again sprinkle with sprinkles or nuts or have as is..
Place the prepared cake pops in a standing way. I used a vegetable strainer and made them stand for 15 minutes
Refrigerate this for another 30 minutes
Serve!!
