Mangoes are delicious, they are called the King of Fruits is what I am teaching my little one now.. So true.. Mango when eaten raw or when eaten as a fruit is super yummy and delicious.. It is also very versatile. I have made few recipes with Mango and Manga (raw mango) and have loved each of it. It is Mango season now and I wanted to do a different recipe that I have not tried before and answer was the easy and quick authentic mor kuzhambu made with Mango. Loved this recipe for its taste, easy of making it, its authenticity and such a different one.. A delicious mor kuzhambu made with mangoes. This mor kuzhambu is also very quick one to do..
Ripe Mango - 1
Beaten Curd - 1 1/2 cups
Turmeric - A pinch
Asafetida - 1/4 tea spoon
Salt - 1/2 tea spoon
Curry Leaves - 5 + 5
Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tea spoon
Red Chili - 2 + 1
Green Chili - 2
Coconut - 1/2 cup (grated)
Fenugreek Seeds - 1/4 tea spoon
Coconut Oil - 1 tea spoon + 1 tea spoon
Peel the skin of the mango and cut into 2 inch pieces
Add 1/2 cup water and turmeric to the mango and cook until the mangoes are almost done..
About 3 to 5 minutes. Mash it a little and set aside
Heat a pan and add a tea spoon of oil and saute the fenugreek seeds red chili and green chili
Transfer to a blender and grind it along with coconut to a paste and set aside
Beat the curd well and add the grinded paste to the curd and mix until you get a homogeneous mix
Add the curd and grinded mixture to the cooked mango and mix well
Cook it again until it bubbles lightly.. It should not boil as the curd may curdle..
Remove from heat and transfer to a serving bowl
Heat a tea spoon of oil in a small pan and mustard seeds and once it crackles, add the red chili and the curry leaves
Add it to the mango mor kuzhambu..
