Vazhaikkai Eriseri is a very spicy kootu which is very aromatic and mouthwatering. This is a very quick one to make and can be made in less than 15 minutes. I made as this for Tamil Nadu.
Ingredients
Vazhaikkai / Green Plantain – 2
Toor Dal / Tuvaram Parupu – 2 Spoons
Channa Dal / Kadalai Parupu – 2 Spoons
Black pepper – ½ spoon
Red Chili – 4
Coconut – Little
Salt – for taste
Turmeric – ¼ tea spoon
Asafetida – 1/8 tea spoon
Method
Cut the vazhaikkai into small pieces and boil it in water till it is 75% cooked.
Fry all the otherIngredients (other than coconut) and grind it with coconut.
Once the vazahaikkai is done, add the grinded mixture to it and bring it to boil. Now Vazhaikkai Eriseri is ready to eat.
