Mor Kali is a quick and easy tamil tiffin item which can be prepared under 15 minutes and you do not need an elaborate side also, just urugai or vathal kuzhambu will do.. I love this and can eat it as is!!
Ingredients
Rice Flour – 1 cup
Salt – 1 ½ tea spoons
Curd – ¾ cup
Water – 1 ¼ cups
Mustard Seeds – ½ tea spoon
Asafetida – ¼ tea spoon
Sesame or Gingelly Oil – 5 table spoons
Coriander Leaves – 1 table spoon
Curry Leaves – 6
Green Chili – 1
Ginger (grated fine) – ½ tea spoon
Method
In a mixing bowl, combine water and curd to a smooth consistency
Add rice flour, salt, asafetida and blend well to form a very watery batter without lumps – I used Hand blender for this.
Heat a kadai and add oil and once hot, splutter mustard seeds and add red chili and green chili and in 10 seconds, add the rice batter and mix continuously in a medium low flame until it comes together and forms a dough (it will take not more than 2 to 3 minutes)
Remove from heat and serve immediately…
