I Scream You Scream, We all scream for Ice cream!!! I love this phrase.. So true as far as I am concerned… Ice creams are so common in most parts of the world and each place has its unique flavors and creations. When we were in US, we love the flavors you get there but always missed the delicious and pretty looking tutti frutti ice cream. I was so excited to try it at home the very first time and was very happy with the results. My favorite ice cream flavor made at home.Tutti Frutti Ice cream is a ice cream which is made from the tutti frutti which is a colorful confection containing various chopped and usually candied fruits. It is a very pretty colorful ice cream from its beautiful orange color and the small tutti frutti in it. Very excited to share this for Kid’s delight.
Ingredients
Tutti Frutti – ¼ cup
Half and Half – ¾ cups (1 ½ cups)
Whipping cream – 5 table spoons (10 table spoons)
Milk – 2 table spoons (1/4 cup)
Sugar – ¼ cup (1/2 cup)
Milk Powder – None
Saffron – A few strands
Cardamom Powder – ¼ tea spoon
Kesar color – A pinch (very little)
MethodHeat milk, half and half, whipping cream and sugar for 2 minutes until the sugar dissolves
Once the sugar is dissolved, remove from heat and add cardamom, saffron, edible camphor and kesar color
Remove from heat and transfer to a wide bowl to cool faster. Keep this bowl in the fridge once in room temperature for 30 minutes on ice to cool faster
On the ice cream maker and immediately transfer the mixture to the freezer bowl of the ice cream maker while running
Allow it to run for 20 – 25 minutes until it is thick and creamy
Now add the tutti frutti and allow it to run for another 2 – 3 minutes
Switch off the ice cream maker and transfer the ice cream to a freezer safe plastic container and top it with plastic wrap to avoid freezer burns and leathery ice cream
Put it in the freezer for at least 4 hours before serving
Scoop the ice cream and top it off with more tutti frutti if desired.
