Thinai is a whole grain that I got introduced recently.. It is very healthy and nutritious.. The first recipe I tried with Thinai is Thinai Pulao (recipe coming soon)and now Thinai Laddu. I got this one from Arokya Unavu TV Show. This is one of the sweets that you do not feel guilty gobbling a few.. It is so good for you and very quick to make.. One change I would do is - Next time I will grind the thinai little more. Now it was like ravai / sooji. I think we would prefer more smoother one..

Ingredients
Thinai - 1/2 cup
Honey - 1 1/2 - 2 table spoons
Cardamom Powder - 1/4 tea spoon
Ghee - 1/2 tea spoon
Cashew - 7 - 10 pieces
Raisins - 1 table spoons

Thinai - 1/2 cup
Honey - 1 1/2 - 2 table spoons
Cardamom Powder - 1/4 tea spoon
Ghee - 1/2 tea spoon
Cashew - 7 - 10 pieces
Raisins - 1 table spoons
Method
Dry roast the thinai for 3 - 5 minutes. Do not brown it. You will see the flour flying from the pan. Set this aside to cool and grind it to a coarse powder and transfer to the bowl
Dry the cashew and also pulse it until it is broken in to small pieces (not a powder). Transfer this also to the thinai bowl
Grind raisins into small pieces (you could also chop it coarsely)
Mix thinai, cashew, raisins, cardamom well and now add honey (1/2 table spoon at a time) and mix it
When you are able to shape it to a ball, add the ghee and make small balls
Arrange on the serving plate and now Thinai Laddu is ready
