Broccoli Cheese Paratha or Calciumaratha

Women are advised to eat calcium rich foods. This advise is more when you are a new mom. So when I was advised about having calcium rich in my diet.. I took the advise from my folks at home and also turned to internet to see what ingredients are rich in calcium.. And then I put these ingredients together and made this paratha.. So I named it Calciumaratha.. The two main ingredients are Broccoli and Cheese.. Makes 12 medium big sized parathas. Good for 3 – 4 people.

IngredientsWhole Wheat Flour – 2 ½ cups
Carrot (grated) – ¾ cup
Onion (grated) – ½ cup
Potato (boiled and mashed) - 1 (optional)
Broccoli (grated) – 3/4 cup
Cheese – ¼ cup
Green Chili – 2
Coriander Leaves (chopped fine) – ½ cup
Oil – 1 tea spoon per paratha + 1 table spoon while kneading.
Salt – 1 tea spoon
Asafetida – ¼ tea spoon
Red Chili Powder – 1 tea spoon

Mix all and make a dough like chapathi dough.
Allow this to rest for 10 – 15 minutes.
Made 6 to 8 inch sized chapathi and cook it on a tawa
You can add about a tea spoon of oil per paratha..
Serve hot with raitha or as is!!!

  12. Lovely parathas Sowmya! Women so need to increase their calcium intake. I am seeing so many women suffer bone loss starting at very young age.
