Some days make you feel just lazy and on those days a warm comforting soup is the best way to go.. But it has to be done quickly. This soup can be done in less than 15 minutes with no chopping required, most of the items will be in the pantry and tastes so comforting. This is a very healthy, tasty and quick dish. This will serve 2 - 3. I got this recipe from here and this is surely a keeper soup..
IngredientsWhole Wheat Flour – 2 table spoons
Salt – A pinch
Turmeric – A pinch
Water – 2 ½ cups
Ginger Powder – 1 tea spoon
Ghee – 2 table spoons
Almonds – 10
Carom Seeds / Ajwain – 2 tea spoons
Jaggery – 3 – 4 table spoons
Cloves – 4
Cinnamon Stick – 3 inch piece
Black Pepper Powder – 1 tea spoon (adjust to taste)
Method
Cut the almonds into pepper size pieces and set aside.
Heat ghee in a pan and once hot add carom seeds, cloves and cinnamon
Add the wheat flour and cook until the raw flavor of the flour is gone and a nice aroma comes. This will also turn pinkish in color.
Add jaggery and water and bring it to a boil
Add turmeric, salt and ginger powder and cook for 3 minutes
Add black pepper and remove from heat and serve hot!
