Want a healthy snack that you can munch guilt free??? So in perfect for holidays or for watching TV.. Moong dal / Paasi Parupu is a healthy dal which is easy to digest but loaded with proteins.. Ask a person with fever or stomach flu or people who have just delivered, paasi parupu (moong dal) will be part of their diet as it is easy to digest, loaded with proteins and so healthy. I have heard that it also helps in healing the wounds.. There are so many items that we make with this dal. Some are -. This is a different one with it being a snack which is so similar to the fried one. I have the Moong Dal Fry recipe here which is a very famous snack. I got the idea from here to make the similar moong dal fry without actually frying it.
A collection of recipes that are tried in my kitchen.. All of them are vegetarian (eggless) and some are vegan recipes!!!

Eggless Pistachio Sponge Cake
I have started to have an appreciation for Sponge cakes which are very light and airy and as the name as "Spongy". This cake is easy to put together and tastes delicious.. I got this recipe from here and made some changes. I have taken pictures in 2 different light settings, so they look slightly different. Cakes usually come with a whole lot of calories and I have been looking for bakes that are lower in butter and fat. Also I have used whole wheat pastry flour instead of all purpose flour here.. Trust me it was so spongy, airy, light and delicious!!!

Eggless Chocolate Chip Cookies–Eggless Cookies
Chocolate chip cookies are one of the most favorite and also popular variety of cookie. What is the difference between a biscuit and a cookie? You ask this question and you get different answers from different people. To me, cookie is more softer and chewier but a biscuit (that we get in India) is more harder and crispier. My daughter loves to read Dora stories and one of the stories have Dora's mom making her Chocolate Chip Cookies and sending it with Dora when she goes to meet a friend. Now my daughter wanted me to make the chocolate chip cookie. So that was when I made my first try on these delicious, mouth melting and soft chewy cookies. I picked up this recipe and did make a few changes. My daughter was very happy with the cookies, so I have made this a few times now and it goes off in minutes before I could take as many pictures as I want!!!

Almond and Tutti Frutti Quick Bread - with Whole Wheat Flour
It feels so great when we do a recipe with healthy ingredients and it tastes awesome and folks at home do not find out that it has lot of healthy ingredients in it.. I always have a hard time convincing folks to eat when I declare that it is made with millets or whole grains. Now when I sneak them in and they do not know and they like it, I am happy.. Slowly I declare (only if asked) that the healthy ingredients are in them... I first made this quick bread with all purpose flour and the post is here and then in a few days made it with whole wheat flour..
