Gur Ki Roti is a very famous Punjabi Sweet Bread which is so delicious. I got this recipe from here.. It is quite simple to make and is so delicious.. We all enjoyed this bread.. So here is the recipe..
Ingredients
Whole Wheat Flour - 2 cups
Oil - 2 table spoons
Warm Water - to knead the dough
Jaggery (gur) - 1/2 - 3/4 cup (adjust to taste)
Ghee - 1 tea spoon per roti
Salt - A pinch
Method
Mix together flour, salt and rub in the oil and add water slowly to make a medium soft dough
Cover with a damp cloth and set aside for 15 minutes
Grate the jaggery and divide into 8 portions
After 15 minute, make 8 balls from the dough.
Roll one ball into 4 inches in diameter.
While working on one ball, cover the remaining dough to avoid drying out
Place one portion of the jaggery inside the disc and cover it by gathering the edges.
Now roll this stuffed roti ball into 6 inches in diameter.
Heat a tawa and place the roti on it and cook on both sides on medium heat until golden.
Smear 1/2 tea spoon of ghee per side. So about a tea spoon of ghee per roti
Serve topped with ghee accompanied with cold milk
