Talk about inventions and this is my invention to a quick evening snack. This is a chat item which is very spicy and tangy. All the spices used in this dish are personal to choice, availability and preference. We bought the boca patty from the freezer section. This can also be served as a light dinner.
Ingredients
Garden Patty / Veg Patty – 3 patties
Garbanzo Beans – 1 can
Salt – ½ tea spoon
Onion – ¼ cup
Tomato sauce – 1 tea spoon
Tomato Paste / Puree / Urugai – 4 tea spoons (I used Tomato Urugai)
Cumin Seeds – ½ tea spoon
Black Cumin or Shahi Jeera – ½ tea spoon
Fennel Seeds – ½ tea spoon
Cloves – 4
Mint Leaves – 1 tea spoon
Curry Leaves – 4
Asafetida – A pinch
Oil – 2 tea spoons
Green Chili Diced – 2
Ginger Shredded – ¼ cup
Coriander Leaves – ¼ cup
Coriander Powder – ½ tea spoon
Biriyani Masala – ½ tea spoon
Method
Heat a pan and defrost the Patty
Cover it with a lid
Ensure that is getting well cooked on medium flame
Check every few minutes and flip on the other side
Once both the sides are cooked and golden brown spots are formed, cut the patty with the spatula
Cut the Patty into small pieces and cook more
Remove the patty from the heat once well done
Heat oil in a pan
Add Shahi jeera, cumin seeds, cloves and sombu
Once they splutter well, add green chili, ginger and onion
Sauté well till the onions are well done
Add tomato sauce and sauté well
Add tomato urugai and mix it well
Add the Garbanzo beans
Add Coriander powder and Biriyani masala

After about 5 minutes, add the Patty and mix it well
