Killipotta Rasam is a very quick and easy rasam. It can be done in less than 15 minutes and tastes very refreshing. It has to be served very hot or hot. Serve it hot with rice and you will feel so energized and so refreshed!!
Ingredients
Tamarind – 1 lemon sized
Mustard Seeds – ½ tea spoon
Cumin Seeds – ½ tea spoon
Asafetida – ¼ tea spoon
Salt – 1 tea spoon
Water – 3 cups
Red Chili – 2
Coriander Leaves – 1 table spoon
Curry Leaves – 6
Ghee – 1 tea spoon
Tomato – 1
Turmeric Powder – ½ tea spoon
Method
Soak the tamarind in warm water and remove the pulp and set aside
Heat a pan and add the tamarind pulp and add the tomatoes (cubed)
Once this comes to a boil, add turmeric powder, asafetida, salt and curry leaves
In another small pan, add ghee and then mustard seeds, once it crackles, add the cumin seeds and red chili
Add the seasoning to the rasam and once it comes to a boil, remove from heat and garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot!!!
