Rava dosa is an instant dosa that does not require hours of soaking. It can be prepared quickly and tastes amazing!!! There are many instant dosas like rava dosa, kezhvaragu dosa etc. This recipe is for Rava dosa which is made with rava or sooji. Best combination is tomato chutney. The recipe makes 12 – 14 dosas.
IngredientsRavai / Sooji – 1 cup
Rice Flour – 1 cup
Green Chili – 4 (adjust to taste)
Curry Leaves – 10
Coriander Leaves – A small bunch
Oil – 1 tea spoon per dosa
Salt – 1 ½ tea spoons
Cumin Seeds – ½ tea spoon
Ginger (grated) – 1 tea spoon
Asafetida – A pinch
Curd – 1 cup
Water – 3 ½ cups
MethodRoast the ravai in microwave for 90 seconds, stirring twice in between.
Mix ravai, rice flour, green chili, ginger, curry leaves, salt and asafetida well and add curd and form a batter with adding water.
Keep this aside for 15 minutes. The batter should be very very thin.. Almost translucent.
Heat the tawa on medium heat, pour the batter and make the dosa. Cook the dosa on medium heat only to ensure even browning and cooking.
Serve hot with Chutney!!
