Coming today is another variety of Indian Bread which is layered and is crispy and flaky. You can make this with all purpose flour also, today I made this with Whole Wheat Flour and loved the taste and texture. I served this with Mooli Masala. Make this for dinner and enjoy it with your favorite side dish..
Ingredients
Whole Wheat Flour - 3 cups
Salt - 1/2 tea spoon
Oil - 2 table spoons + some for cooking on tawa
Warm Water - for kneading
Method
Mix together flour and salt well
Add 2 table spoons of oil and rub it well so that it is incorporated well
Add warm water slowly (will need about 50 - 55% of the flour quantity)
Knead it well until you a smooth and soft doough
Keep this covered for 20 minutes
After 20 minutes, divide the dough into 8 balls
Roll it in to 6 inch disc
Smear little oil on the disc and spread it well
Make the disc into a fan by folding little and little
Now you will have a strip that is folded
Make the strip to a round and seal the edges
Now press the round so that the edges are sealed well
Roll this round into 8 inches disc
Heat a tawa and smear very little oil
Once the tawa is hot, place the paratha and cook until both sides are well cooked and there are brown spots all over
