Cake - the word means party and celebration... Until recently where I am making cakes or tea cakes or snack cakes which do not have frosting and are mildly sweet. This is perfect for evening tiffin, to take to travel, have as a breakfast or give for your kid's lunchbox.. I got this recipe from here. This cake has a beautiful light yellow color and the tutti frutti in it makes it even more attractive.
Ingredients
All Purpose Flour - 1 1/2 cups
Vanilla Custard Powder or Corn Flour - 3/4 cup
Baking Pwder - 1 1/4 tea spoo
Sugar - 3/4 cup
Vanilla Essence - 1/2 tea spoon (only if you are using corn flour or else skip)
Butter - 2 table spoon
Milk - 1 1/2 cups
Salt - A pinch
Tutti Frutti - 1/4 cup (optional)
Method
Sieve flour, custard powder, baking powder and salt
In another bowl, beat together milk, butter, vanilla
Add sugar (or powder the sugar and add it) and mix it well until the sugar is dissolved
Grease a 8 inch cake pan (8x8) and line it with parchment paper
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C
Make a well in the dry ingredients and pour the liquid ingredients
Mix until creamy and add the tutti frutti
Mix it and pour it into the prepared pan
Tap the pan on the counter to remove air bubbles
Bake it in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean
Cool the cake completely for about 30 minutes and cut into pieces and serve!!!
Cake with custard powder sounds very flavorful and soft . Must try this one .
