Palmiers - Little Hearts Biscuits

Today's recipe is another delicious biscuit which is quite popular among kids in India.. It is also a traditional French pastry which is flaky, rich and buttery.. I got this recipe from here and absolutely love it.. The addition of nuts is optional, but so tasty.

Method
Thaw the puff pastry as per the package instructions
In a bowl, mix together the powdered nuts and sugar well
Dust the working board with some powdered sugar
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F
Once the puff pastry is thawed, place it on the working board.
Sprinkle the nuts and sugar powder and gently roll with a rolling pin to a 10 inch square
Fold the two opposite sides of the puff pastry such that they meet in the center.
Fold the same sides again
Fold one half of the puff pastry over the other half
Cut the puff pastry crosswise  into 1/2 inch thick slices
Place the palmiers on the baking tray cut side down and sprinkle sugar on top
Bake it in the preheated oven for 12 minutes
Remove from oven, flip them and bake the other side for 5-7 minutes until golden
Remove from oven and cool them on a cooling rack until cooled completely
Enjoy!!!
